Hi Parents, 1. Today many students dressed up in outfits for Halloween! It was fun to see the creative costume ideas! We will post some pictures of costumes at the end of the week. 2. Check my backpack today for the foam shape pumpkins we made at school. We also painted mini pumpkins. They will be coming home later this week once they are dry. 2. Please read the attached notice about our upcoming FOP. Hi Parents,
1. Halloween is next Monday. Students may bring or wear their costume to school on Monday, but all pretend weapons and light sabres must remain at home. We also ask that you please do not send any food, candy, treats, toys or other things to be handed out to students on this day. Thanks for your cooperation. 2. Here are a few links to songs we are currently using in our classroom. 1.Today we started some new pumpkin related activities. We have three new table top activities. They include picking up pretend spiders with a pinching grasp, placing shapes in play dough to create pumpkins and counting spiders on spider webs. Our centers are also new! We are ripping orange, green and black paper in our water table. We are also sorting pumpkins by size, color and texture. At our exploring table we are mixing vinegar and baking soda to make a special concoction in a pumpkin bucket. 2. Please remember that tomorrow we will have retakes and our whole classroom photo. Thanks, Ms. Kirsty Hi Parents,
1. Please remember to read you child's IPP and sign and return the signature page. 2. PUMPKINELLA: We still need security cleared volunteers to help to set up jack-o-lanterns and decorations that are appropriate for elementary school for our Pumpkinella display on October 31st. If you can help, please email Melissa Forsyth at [email protected]. We only need people to help one hour before school or one hour after school. If you have any decorations that are child friendly that you would like to donate for the day and are able to help decorate, we would appreciate it. 3.JACKET RACKET: This year we will be helping keep families warm this winter through the "Jacket Racket" program. "Jacket Racket" is a long-running winter wear collection program organized by retired CBE teachers. Students can bring donations of new or gently used winter jackets, fleece jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens to school and drop them in the collection bins that are in the Grand Hall. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the next three weeks, until Nov.10. Thanks, Ms. Kirsty Hi Parents,
Individual Program Plans came home today in a brown envelope. Please read through your child's IPP and sign the back page. Please return the back signing page and keep the IPP at home. We recently had interviews, so I will not be meeting with parents individually to review each goal. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and we can set up a meeting. Thank you, Ms. Kirsty Hi Parents,

1. Please see the notice that went home for our upcoming lunch hour FOP. 2. It seems to be cold season in our classroom. Please remember to keep your child home if they are not feeling well. This will help to keep germs from spreading! :) Thanks, Ms. Kirsty Hi Parents,
Today during table time we enjoyed sorting colors, playing with play dough, creating shape puzzles and tracing lines. In gym we completed a circuit where we practiced bench pulls, the balance beam, avtunnel and a climber. During center time we used blocks and shaving cream to build. We also looked for creatures in a mixture of leaves and rice. Our story this week is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by, Eric Carle. Please remember to register for our next FOP. Thanks, Ms. Kirsty Hi Parents,

Today we enjoyed playing our table time activities. We have a new play dough table time station that has leaves, sticks, pinecones, and other print making materials. We also have a leaf matching game, shape sorting game and velcro Mr. Potato Head. During centers we searched in our sand table for animals that were hiding in leaves. We also created buildings with duplo and dressed up at our costume center. In gym, we practiced throwing and kicking. Then Ms. Kirsty sang shake the silly's out and we cleaned up garbage (scarves). Our story this week is Hattie and the Fox. Thursday is picture day! A notice will be coming home tomorrow. Thanks, Ms. Kirsty |
