Our pancake breakfast will be on Friday, June 23rd. Sales for pre-purchased breakfast tickets through Health Hunger have now closed. Families who pre-purchased will get a paper copy of their tickets by Wednesday. Tickets can be purchased the morning of the breakfast using cash only. As our school year comes to an end, we would like to celebrate with a few special events. Please read below. Sports Day- June 27th Our school will be having Sports Day outside. Our EDC kids will participate in our own Sports Day. Please send your child to school with a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and weather appropriate clothing. Teddy Bear Picnic- June 22nd Our EDC classrooms will be having a special picnic on June 22nd. All children can bring a teddy/stuffed animal to school. We will be having a picnic outside on blankets with our animals. Please remember to dress appropriate for the weather! Last Day Our last day of school is on June 29th. We spent quite a bit of time outside this week. On Monday, we used sticks to explore music outside. We tapped our sticks on the playground equipment and the rest of our outdoor space. On Tuesday and Wednesday we spent some time outside weeding our garden to get it ready for our sunflower plants. Our sunflower plants have been growing inside under a warm light. We also took our water center and music center outside. What a treat it was to build musical instruments and splash around in the sun instead of inside. Thanks, Ms. Kirsty OT Tip of the Month Children typically have an emerging hand preference at age 3-4 years of age and the majority of children have an established hand dominance by 6-7 years of age. It is not uncommon for young children to switch hand use as their dominance emerges. Any activity requiring bilateral coordination, that is using two hands, will help develop a hand preference and enhance their skills of their worker handand helper hand.
